Coolpad has officially launched the Coolpad 7C in China which joins the Cool Play 7 that was announced last month. The Coolpad Cool Play 7C is currently listed on Chinese retailer site JD for a starting price of 699 yuan (approx. Rs 7,200).
The only difference between the two is that the latest device has taken a notch down, literally.Unlike its predecessor, the Cool Play 7C comes with a smaller 5.5-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with a Resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. While the exterior at the back is designed with a dual-curved tempered glass finish, the display on the front gets rid of the notch on top which was present on the Cool Play 7. However, the various colour models that include the Diamond Black, Aurora Blue and Ruby Red, all reflect different hue of the base colour when viewed from different angles.
The Cool Play 7C is powered by the 1.5GHz Octa-core MediaTek MT6750 chip which is also what powered the Play 7 and will come in 3GB + 32GB and 4GB + 64GB memory configurations. The device will run on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with Coolpad’s own AI voice assistant which help the user execute tasks through Voice commands in order to avoid using the phone while driving or cooking.
Coolpad has employed a single 8MP camera at the back which looks like a dual-camera setup on the Play 7C and the back of the phone also includes the fingerprint scanner for security. The front facing camera is a 5MP sensor. The device is fuelled by a 2500mAh battery.
The Coolpad Cool Play 7C is currently available on preorders for asking price of 699 yuan (approx. Rs 7,200) and 799 yuan (approx. Rs 8,300) for the 32GB and 64GB storage versions.
