BSNL now charges Rs 50 for SIM card replacement

Earlier this year, BSNL increased the SIM replacement charges from Rs 10 to Rs 100 which is valid for both prepaid and postpaid customers.

The state-run telecom company BSNL has reduced the prices for its SIM card replacement charge by up to 50 percent. Now if you want a new BSNL SIM card, you will need to only pay Rs 50.

Earlier this year, BSNL increased the SIM replacement charges from Rs 10 to Rs 100 which is valid for both prepaid and postpaid customers. And now, it has further reduced it once again. This new development comes right after BSNL recently imposed a daily calling cap on prepaid recharges including Rs 186, Rs 429, Rs 485, Rs 666 and Rs 1,699.

This BSNL SIM Replacement price reduction has reportedly been introduced on a promotional basis, and would apply from August 1, 2019, to October 31, 2019. After that one will have to pay Rs 100. TelecomTalk reports that the new promotional cost is live in all circles.

In another related development, BSNL recently revised its Abhinandan-151 prepaid plan. The BSNL Abhinandan-151 plan comes with a validity period of 24 days and it now offers 1.5GB data per day. Earlier the same plan was offering 1GB data per day. So, the telco is now offering 500MB extra data for a period of 24 days.

Apart from data, BSNL plan offers unlimited local, STD and calls and 100 per day for the subscribers. Once the data limit of 1GB is exhausted in a day, the speed will be reduced to 40 Kbps.
