BSNL increases SIM replacement fee ,reduces validity of Rs 99 and Rs 319 plans

The state-owned telecom operator has also reportedly increased the SIM replacement and reduced validity of Rs 99 and Rs 319 prepaid packs.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has reduced the validity of its unlimited calling worth Rs 319. The state-owned telecom operator has also reportedly increased the replacement and reduced validity of Rs 99 prepaid pack.

The Rs 319 prepaid pack was initially launched with unlimited voice calling benefits to any networks expect Mumbai and Delhi. The pack used to offer 90 days of validity, though, with the recent revision, it now offers only 84 days of validity, reports TelecomTalk.

Moving on, the company has reduced the validity of the Rs 99 prepaid plan. The pack, which earlier used to offer 26 days of validity, now comes with only 24 days of validity. The prepaid plan offers unlimited calling benefits similar to the Rs 319 prepaid plan.

Further, the telecom operator has also reportedly increased the SIM replacement cost by 10 times. BSNL earlier used to charge Rs 10 for a SIM replacement, however, it is now charging Rs 100 from the users for the replacement. It is also said that the operator is offering SIM for Rs 19 in some regions.

Meanwhile, BSNL has doubled up the data benefits on Rs 525 and Rs 725 postpaid plans. BSNL’s latest Rs 525 now offers data benefits of 40GB per month from a previous offering of 15GB monthly data. The plan offers unlimited voice calling across any networks, one year of Amazon Prime membership and 100 per day as added benefits.

The Rs 725 plan for postpaid users of BSNL now offers 50GB of data per month. The plan also offers unlimited local, STD and national calls with no FUP limit in addition to one year of free Amazon Prime subscription and 100 SMS per day.
