Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), a state-owned operator has announced the launch of Rs 27 plan for its prepaid customers. The plan comes after the recently announced BSNL Rs 171 prepaid plan.
The new 27 plan comes with a validity period of 7 days, reports TelecomTalk. It offers unlimited voice calls without any FUP limit and 300 SMS messages for the total validity period. The plan is valid for all subscribers on the pan-India basis from August 6. Further, users can not make voice calls to Delhi and Mumbai circles.
The report further says that BSNL has instructed all the circle authorities to implement this new plan before August 6. If any circle has a tariff plan with denomination Rs 27, then those plans are said to be pushed to another denomination.
The BSNL Rs 27 plan competes with the Reliance Jio pack of Rs 52. Jio plan also comes with 7 days validity and offers 1.05GB of 4G data, unlimited voice calls and 70 SMS messages. In pricing and benefits, BSNL plan has an EDGE over Jio, but BSNL lags in its unavailability of voice calling to Mumbai and Delhi circles.
On the other hand, Airtel and Vodafone offer Rs 47 pack for prepaid customers with a validity of 28 days. Both the telcos are offering 125 minutes of voice calls, 50 SMSes and 500MB data with Rs 47 pack.
