State-owned operator BSNL has announced two special tariff prepaid plans – Ananth and Ananth Plus; offering unlimited voice calling benefits. The availability of the new plans, however, is limited to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana circles in line with BSNL’s tradition of rolling out different vouchers across different regions.
The Ananth and Ananth Plus prepaid plans are available to customers for asking prices of Rs 105 and Rs 328 respectively, with both plans offering local, STD and Roaming voice calls. The only section they differ at is the validity of the benefits included.
The cheaper Ananth Prepaid Plan is available for Rs 105 and offers unlimited local, STD and roaming voice calls for a total of 26 days. The same plan comes for Rs 99 in other circles except for Delhi and Mumbai with the same unlimited voice calling option.
There’s also the Rs 326 Ananth Plus prepaid plan that offers these benefits for as much as 90 days. The pricing of the same is reduced to Rs 319 in 20 other circles across India with the exception of Mumbai and Delhi which fall into Mahanagar Telecom Nigam Limited (MTNL).
It should be noted that the two latest plans on prepaid are voice-only packages and comes as a response to Reliance Jio’s and Airtel’s efforts to provide free unlimited voice calling to any network across India. The state-run telco is currently gearing up to set up its 4G services in the country after clearing up with the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) over the acquisition of 4G airwaves.
Last week, BSNL introduced a Bumper offer providing users with an additional 2.2GB data per day on 10 prepaid plans. The company also revised its Rs 241 prepaid plan with more data on 3G.
