BSNL revises Rs 241 prepaid STV plan, now offering 75GB data

After the revision, users will get the 75GB data over 30 day validity period and 2.5GB per day FUP for 2G/3G data. The new benefits will become effective from September 10 and will expire on December 5.

State-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has today revised the Rs 241 special tariff voucher (STV) plan for its prepaid customers. After revision, the plan is now offering more data benefit than its earlier benefit. The plan is a data-only plan and it does not offer any voice calling or benefits like the unlimited plans.

Now the BSNL STV 241 plan offers its customers a total of 75GB of 2G/3G data, earlier the same plan used to offer just 7GB of data for the entire validity period. Unlike other plans with a validity of 28 days, this plan comes with a validity of 30 days. Because this STV is data-only, the user will not get any benefits of voice calling or SMS services.

TelecomTalk reports that the plan is however not valid on the pan-India basis but has been introduced in Kerala circle only. The report further says that the plan is expected to roll to other circles as well in future.

After the revision, users will get the 75GB data over 30 day validity period and 2.5GB per day FUP for 2G/3G data. The new benefits will become effective from September 10 and will expire on December 5.

The revision is made on a promotional basis and the new benefits will become effective from September 10 and will expire on December 5, 2018. At the end of the promotional period, BSNL will decide whether to extend the plan for 90 days or to revert back to its original benefits.

Meanwhile, BSNL is expected to launch its much-awaited 4G services in India soon as the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has cleared the acquisition of 4G airwaves.
