Here are five smartphones with the latest Android KitKat operating system that you can buy for less than Rs 10,000.

In recent times, about a dozen of handsets were launched with the latest KitKat operating system. Just a couple of days back, Xolo announced its Q500s IPS and Play 6X 1000 with Android KitKat.

Thus we thought the time ripe to present you the list of Android KitKat handsets under Rs 10,000. Note that while selecting the handsets we heavily depended
on their specification, since we have not reviewed many of them. So in real life, their performance may differ. In case you have used any one of them, we thus request you to share your valuable opinion in the comment’s section.

Motorola Moto E

This is the first handset in the under-Rs 10,000 segment (it is available for Rs 6,999) to come out with the latest Android KitKat operating system. Though its availability is an issue till now, we were forced to choose it for its superb quality and positive reviews both from users and analysts.

Motorola Moto E

It has a 4.3-inch display, 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 200 processor, 1 GB RAM, 4 GB on-board storage, 32 GB micro SD card slot, dual SIM, WiFi, port, 4.0, GPS, GLONASS, and BeiDou. It has FM radio as well. The Moto E has a 5 megapixel rear camera and a 1960 mAh battery but it doesn’t have any front camera.

Micromax Canvas Unite 2

Responding to the launch of Moto E, Micromax – the No 2 smartphone maker in India according to research firms, announced a slew of Android KitKat based smartphones including the Canvas Unite 2, Canvas Engage, and Canvas A105. Since we had reviewed the Canvas Unite 2, we choose it over others.

Micromax Canvas Unite 2

The Micromax Canvas Unite 2, which is priced at Rs 6,999, is also known for its support for 21 Indian languages. The Micromax Canvas Unite 2 is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad core processor and is available in 4 bright colors -grey, white, red and green. The Unite 2 comes with a 4.7-inch IPS display with a resolution of 800×480 pixels. It has a 2000 mAh battery, 5 megapixel rear camera, an LED flash, and a 2 front camera. Besides, it has expandable memory of 32 GB and has GPS, Bluetooth v4.0 and WiFi.

Lava Iris X1

The Iris X1 features a 4.5-inch IPS display, a quad-core 1.2 GHz Broadcom mobile chipset, 1 GB RAM, 4 GB on-board storage, 32 GB micro SD card slot, 8 megapixel rear camera, an LED flash, a 2.0 megapixel front camera, and an 1800 mAh battery. Besides this smartphone has WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, and USB on-the-Go support.

Iberry Auxus Linea L1

Priced at Rs 6,990, the Linea L1 of iBerry has a 4.5 inch IPS display with with 480×854 pixels resolution. It is powered by a quad-core 1.3 GHz MediaTek MT6582 mobile processor with 1 GB RAM. Its micro SD card can hold up to 64 GB micro SD card. The phone has a 5 megapixel auto focus camera at the rear and a 2 megapixel camera in the front. The phone packs a decent 2000 mAh battery and supports configuration. This 9.9 mm thick handset weighs only 129 grams and has WiFi, Bluetooth, etc.

Xolo Q600s

Launched in May this year for Rs 7,499, the Xolo Q600s is the tweaked version of the Xolo Q600 which was announced last year. The Q600s features a 4.5-inch touchscreen display with 960×540 pixel resolution. This smartphone is powered by an unspecified quad-core 1.2 GHz Broadcom processor and 1 GB RAM. It has 4 GB on-board storage and a slot that can hold a micro SD card of upto 64 GB.

Xolo Q600s

At the back, Q600s has a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash for imaging while in its front lies a 0.3 megapixel front facing camera. Other than that it has wiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, FM Radio and standard audio port. This dual SIM handset supports one 3G network enabled SIM card in one of the slots.
