Mobile phone makers have been pushing some of the best features in its mid-high segment of smartphones. With this new evolved segment, there are flagship devices of last year along with competitive features offering new handsets.
This week, we have selected five handsets that package most recent software experience backed by supporting hardware.
HTC Desire 816 is now available in the market, competing with Samsung Galaxy Grand 2. The Desire 816 sporting a fresh look offers a large 5.5-inch display with 720p HD resolution. Powered by the 1.6 GHz Snapdragon 400 quad core processor, the phone has 1.5 GB RAM to power the overall performance. The Desire 816 is mere 7.9 mm thick and weighs 165 grams. HTC has loaded the Sense 6.0 over Android 4.4.2 KitKat on it. Desire 816 has 8 GB of internal storage and memory slot to support up to 128 GB micro SD card. 
There is a 13 megapixel camera in the back with LED Flash. The rear camera comprising of BSI sensor offers f2.2 aperture and can capture full HD videos. There is a 5 megapixel camera in the front and it too can capture full HD videos. HTC Desire 816 can hold two nano SIM modules in the dual-SIM configuration. The specifications point that the smartphone can also support 4G LTE network enabled nano SIM module. Other notable features include Wi-Fi support, Bluetooth 4.0, DLNA support, FM Radio and GPS with A-GPS as well as GLONASS support. HTC has packed non-removable 2600 mAh battery inside this phone.

Motorola Moto X features a 4.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen display with 720p HD resolution. Motorola powered the Moto X with quad-core 1.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus mobile processor coupled with 2 GB RAM. Unfortunately, there is no Memory card slot. At the rear, Moto X features 10 megapixel camera with LED Flash and made it capable to shoot images and full HD videos in HDR. In the front is a 2 megapixel camera capable of full HD video chat. 
Motorola has packed several sensor in this device – Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Proximity, Temperature, Barometer and E-Compass. Faster mobile web experience is enjoyable through the Dual-Band WiFi network support. Motorola exclusive applications and services make it uniquely intuitive for the Android enthusiasts. Moto X has recently got the Android 4.4 Kitkat update. Motorola has packed a 2200 mAh battery in the phone.
Gionee Elife E7 was introduced with very competitive hardware in India. The Elife E7 smartphone features a 16 megapixel camera with 1/2.3-inch Largan M8 sensor and a five element Sapphire lens in. Gionee has used a 5.5-inch IPS display with 1920×1080 pixel resolution and made using the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 technology that protects it from scratches. The Elife E7 is powered with quad-core 2.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 MSM8974 processor with Adreno 330 GPU. The Elife E7 is offered in 16 GB model with 2 GB RAM and 32 GB model that packs 3 GB RAM. 
The 16 megapixel camera has auto focus, LED flash and is capable easily recording 1080p HD video recording. In the front, it has an 8 megapixel camera with auto-focus. Other features of Elife E7 include Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, USB On the Go, 3G network support and Near Field Communication support. Gionee has added a 2500 mAh battery in the Elife E7. Nokia launched the Lumia 1320 couple of months ago. The Lumia 1320 offers a large 6-inch IPS LCD ClearBlack display sporting 1280×720 pixel resolution. This display has been made using Corning Gorilla Glass 3 technology for protection. Nokia has powered this smartphone with a dual-core, 1.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 mobile processor which is being paired with 1 GB RAM. Nokia has loaded the phone with Lumia Black update along with best Lumia exclusive apps and features with Window Phone 8 Update 3. Microsoft is expected to push the Windows Phone 8.1 update for this device next month. 
The Lumia 1320 supports 4G LTE and HSPA+ network bands for India to offer faster speed mobile internet experience. It comes with WiFi support as well. The Lumia 1320 has a 5 megapixel auto-focus camera and an LED flash. This camera can record a full HD videos. There is a VGA camera in the front. Other features of Lumia 1320 include FM Radio, Bluetooth, GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS support, and a 3400 mAh battery. LG made Google Nexus 5 is one of the best devices in the market offering vanilla Android 4.4 KitKat experience. The Nexus 5 has a 4.95-inch True HD IPS+ capacitive display with 1920×1080 pixel resolution. The Nexus 5 is powered by quad-core 2.3 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 mobile Chipset paired with 2 GB RAM. The said model offers 16 GB storage. By default, it runs Android 4.4 KitKat and obviously will get future updates. 
Nexus 5 features 8 megapixel camera with LED flash to click high quality images and is capable of recording full HD videos. Its front facing 1.3 megapixel camera supports video calling. The Nexus 5 offers Bluetooth 4.0, dual-band WiFi, WiFi Direct and 4G LTE network support for wireless connectivity. LG has managed to pack only 2300 mAh battery and the lack of Memory card slot could be a concern.
