The first in this list is also one of the most recent ones we’ve seen in the market. Huawei announced the Mate 20 Pro at the end of November 2018 for an asking price of Rs 69,990 as a flagship device to go head on with the iPhone XS Max, Pixel 3 XL and Galaxy Note 9.

The Mate 20 Pro features a 6.39-inch Quad OLED curved display with a screen resolution of 3120 x 1440 pixels, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, DCI-P3 HDR and 820 nits brightness. The device is powered by the latest Kirin 980 with Mali-G76 MP10 GPU, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Its major highlight comes in the form of the triple-camera setup at the back which comprises of a 40MP lens, 20MP ultra-wide angle lens and an 8MP 3X telephoto lens. There’s a 24MP RGB selfie camera with support for 3D facial unlocking and an in-display fingerprint sensor for added security. It runs EMUI 9.0 on top of 9.0 Pie and is fuelled by a 4200mAh battery with support for 40W SuperCharge, 15W fast wireless charging and wireless reverse charging.

OnePlus 6T

By now, there’s no doubt that when OnePlus releases a flagship killer, it’ll attract a lot of attention and the OnePlus 6T is no different. The device was launched at the end of October 2018 and sells its top-of-the-line model for an asking price of Rs 45,999.

The OnePlus 6T comes loaded with a 6.4-inch Optic with 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 6 protection. The smartphone runs OxygenOS based on Android 9.0 Pie and is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 coupled with Adreno 630 GPU, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage in the most expensive model. It has dual rear camera setup 16-megapixel and a 20-megapixel sensor. At the front, the OnePlus 6T contains a 16-megapixel sensor. All of this is fuelled by a 3,700mAh battery with support for up to 20W fast charging.

Honor View 20

The latest addition to this list is Honor’s View 20 smartphone which was unveiled earlier this week for a price of Rs 45,999 as a cheaper alternative to Huawei’s Mate 20 Pro.

The Honor View 20 equips a 6.4-inch full-HD+ (1080×2310 pixels) display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a screen-to-body ratio of 91.82 percent. The display comes with a hole-punch cutout to hide the 25MP selfie camera. The smartphone comes powered by the same HiSilicon Kirin 980 processor which is present on its Huawei counterpart and is paired with a Mali-G76 MP10 GPU, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. There’s a Dual Rear camera setup at the back which combines the latest 48MP SonyIMX 586 sensor with a ToF 3D sensor to scan objects in 3D. The device runs on Android 9 Pie with Honor’s Magic UI 2.0 on top and is fuelled by a 4,000mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging.

Xiaomi Poco F1

You might probably have seen it coming and yes, the Poco F1 finds its way to this list too and is also the cheapest of the top 5 smartphones to be launched in the recent times. The Poco F1 was launched back in August for a starting price of Rs 20,999 for the base variant. However, there’s a special Armoured Edition up for the taking which sold for a launch price of Rs 29,999 but has since received a price cut. The special Kevlar-made version can now be purchased for Rs 28,999, still making its way as the cheapest among this list.

The Poco F1 features a 6.18-inch Full HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 19:9. It’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The smartphone equips a dual rear camera setup with a combination of 12-megapixel primary Sony IMX363 sensor with dual pixel autofocus, with dual LED Flash, 1.4μm pixel size and a 5-megapixel secondary Samsung sensor. It has a 20-megapixel selfie camera along with support for IR face unlock feature. The device is backed up by 4,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support and it and currently runs on Android 9 Pie.

Vivo NEX

The last one of this list is also the oldest of the five, having been launched back in July 2018. Vivo announced its NEX flagship smartphone which was the commercial version of its concept Apex smartphone. The device was announced for a price of Rs Rs 44,990 but has since received a price cut and is thus available for purchase for Rs 39,990.

The Vivo NEX sports a 6.59-inch Ultra FullView “Zero Screen” display with a resolution of 2,316 x 1,080 pixels and a screen-to-body-ratio of 91.24 percent. Under the hood, the phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset with an Adreno 630 GPU, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The highlight of the Vivo Nex phone is its 8MP pop-up selfie camera that slides up and down when required. For primary imaging, the device is equipped with a Sony IMX363 12MP sensor and a secondary 5MP lens. Vivo Nex runs on the Android 8.1 Oreo with the company’s Funtouch OS 4.0 on top and a 4,000mAh battery which supports 22.5-watt quick charging.
