Sony Tablet S Wi-Fi, 16 (Rs 23,000)

The tablet S has a 9.4-inch touchscreen display which has been built using Sony TruBlack technology that promises better reproduction of high quality images and videos. The tablet also incorporates usage of a special anti-reflective film that makes the tablet display less reflective.

The display on the Sony Tablet S features a 1280×800 pixel with 16:10 aspect ratio that is common in the most 10.1-inch display bearing tablets. The Tablet S comprises of a dual-core 1 GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 that incorporates a low power GeForce series graphics chip as well.

Along with this the tablet has 1 GB memory and runs on Honeycomb operating syste. The tablet comes with 16 GB on-board storage but out of that only 9 GB is user accessible storage, rest is used by the devices OS and other applications.

Milagrow Tabtop 8GB (Rs 10,000)

Milagrow has been one of the latest entrants in the Indian tablet market with a wide range of products. The Milagrow tab top which earlier used to costs Rs 13,999 is now available for a price tag of Rs 10,000 on Ebay.in.

The Tabtop has a 7 inch backlit 4:3 resistive touch display, 8 GB of built-in storage expandable to 32 GB via SD card, Wi-Fi, connectivity via a dongle, USB 2.0, and a 4,000 battery promising more than 8 hours of usage.

The tablet is available in four colors – pink, blue, grey and black. The device comes with Android 2.3 operating system, 1.2 GHz processor based on ARM Cortex-A8 architecture, and 512 MB of DDR3 RAM.

The device however comes with a resistive touchscreen but it still manages to feature pinch to zoom functionality as well.

BlackBerry PlayBook 64 GB (Rs 18,000)

Initially the tablet was criticised for being over priced but now the price of its 64 GB version has come down to Rs 18,000, while the base version with 16 GB memory is currently selling for Rs 14,000. These offers are available on websites like Flipkart and ebay India.

PlayBook runs on the QNX operating system and is powered by a Cortex A9 dual core processor with PowerVR SGX540 graphics card and 1 GB RAM. In terms of performance the PlayBook is by far the most impressive tablet (Not considering the iPads) and the one with the maximum battery life too.

The PlayBook sports a 7 inch LCD capacitive touchscreen that has 1024 x 600 pixel resolution. The high resolution screen also has four point, multi-touch and gesture support features.

There’s a 5 megapixel camera at the back of the PlayBook and can record full HD 1080p video in format. There is also a 3 megapixel front-facing camera that allows video chats. BlackBerry PlayBook uses a standard 5300 mAh Li-Po battery.

The PlayBook does not have a micro SD slot but with 64 GB of onboard memory it might not be a issue.

Funbook has a Cortex A8 architecture based 1.2 GHz processor and dedicated dual core MALI graphics processor for visual superiority. It features 512 MB of which is just the right amount of memory for apps to work on ICS and 4 GB of which can be expanded by up to 32 GB through an external SDHC cards.

On data connectivity, Funbook supports Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity through a USB dongle. Currently, a Tata Photon data card with 1GB of free data download for two months is offered to consumers as a complimentary offer form the manufacturer.

The tablet also has an HDMI port which will allow users to connect the Funbook to a TV. The Android tablet also supports a number of music and video file formats for entertainment superiority while being mobile too.
