Nikon D850

Nikon is probably one of the best brands in the camera industry that has a range of devices ranging from basic point and shoot cameras to professional DSLR. Nikon recently introduced the D850, which comes loaded with a host of interesting features.

The major highlight of the camera is full-frame FX-format 45.7-megapixel CMOS sensor along with Expeed 5 image-processing engine. The camera has an ISO sensitivity range from ISO 64 to 25600, which is expandable from Lo 1 (ISO 32) to Hi 2 (ISO 102400). The device comes with support and 8K time-lapse movie production. The camera also allows RAW batch processing, exposure metering range expansion, and a peaking function that enables accurate manual focusing.

Nikon D850

The DSLR camera comes with 153-point AF system and 99 cross for continuous shooting. The shooting speed is available 7fps and 9fps. The DSLR camera comes with 3.2-inch touchscreen monitor with 2359k-dot resolution. Further, the button illumination is also there, which helps shooting in dark situations.

The focus shift capability further allows the camera to automatically take up to 300 shots while moving focus position from the starting point to infinity. The camera is available at a price of Rs 254,950 for body only and Rs 299,950 with AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4G ED lens.

Canon EOS 6D Mark II

Canon recently introduced the EOS 6D Mark II, which offers some really interesting features. The DSLR comes with a price of Rs 1,32,995 (for body only), Rs 1,84,995 with EF 24-70mm f/4L IS USM lens and Rs 2,02,995 with EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II USM lens.

The camera features a 26.2-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor along with Digic 7 image processor, which the company claims delivers clear images even in low light conditions. The device is equipped with 45-point all cross-type AF system. Of the 45 points, 27 are f/8 compatible, resulting in improved performance when using an extender. Additionally, the EOS 6D Mark II features a continuous shooting speed of up to 6.5 fps. It also comes with Dual CMOS AF system.

Canon EOS 6D Mark II

The camera has a 7560-pixel RGB+IR metering sensor and a colour detection AF that enables consistent and accurate exposure in various lighting conditions. It automatically detects skin tones and prioritises focus on human subjects within the frame. The camera has an ISO range of ISO 100-40000 (expandable range 50- 102,400). The device comes with a 3.0-inch vari-angle touchscreen display with approx. 1.04 million dots resolution.

On the connectivity front, the DSLR offers WiFi and through which users can transfer images and videos from the camera to the smart devices. Then there is Canon Camera Connect app, which allows users to have real-time control of camera settings such as shutter speed, focus selection and self-timer and more. Sony A7R III

Sony’s mirrorless camera range redefined the definition of a compact camera. By adding DSLR-level features in a compact body. And with this one, the brand took a step forward by introducing a full-frame CMOS sensor, while maintaining a compact look. The mirrorless camera comes with a price tag of Rs 2,64,990 and it supports Sony E-mount lenses.

The major highlight of the camera is 35m full-frame 42.4-megapixel Exmor R CMOS backside-illuminated sensor and faster Bionz X processor, which the company claims to be about 1.8 times faster than the a7R II. The A7R III comes loaded with 399 phase-detection AF points that the company claims cover approximately 68 percent of the image area both horizontally and vertically along with 425 contrast AF points, an increase of 400 points as compared to the A7R II.

Sony A7R III

The camera captures up to 8fps live-view shooting with full in both mechanical and electronic shutter mode. As for the video, the camera is capable of recording both full frame or Super 35 mode with 3840 x 2160 UHD 4K video. The camera has an ISO sensitivity range from ISO 25600 to ISO 32000, which is expandable to ISO 50 – 102400 for still images and it also sports a 15-stop 8 dynamic range at low sensitivity settings.

The mirrorless camera offers 5-axis optical image stabilization. It also comes with Quad-VGA Tru-Finder which utilizes Zeiss T coating to reduce reflections and comes with a customizable frame rate with an option of either 50 or 100 fps. On the connectivity front, it features dual media slots with support in one slot for UHS-II type memory cards, WiFi, 3.1 USB Type C port and more.

Panasonic Lumix GH5

Panasonic has marked its presence in the camera domain with some really good launches and one of them is Lumix GH5. The camera is priced at Rs 1,43,990 for the body and Rs 1,88,990 with the DC-GH5 Kit which includes a 12-60 mm F2.8-4.0 lens.

Jumping straight into the specifications, the new Lumix GH5 boasts a rugged magnesium alloy body with full die cast for the front and rear frame which is not only splashproof and dustproof but also freeze-proof down to -10 degrees. It sports a 20.3-megapixel Digital Live MOS sensor which combines with the new Venus Engine from Panasonic, achieving high picture quality in resolution, colour reproduction and noise reduction. Further, this camera can record 4K in 60p/50p video recording and 4:2:2 10-bit 4K 30p/25p internal video recording making it the first camera in the world to have such functionality.

Panasonic Lumix GH5

Equipped with the VFR (Variable Frame Rate), the Panasonic GH5 can record over-cranked/under-cranked video in 4K at 60fps, (maximum 2.5x slower) and Full at 180 fps, (maximum 7.5x slower).

Coming back to the Venus Engine, the new technology from Panasonic focuses on Depth From Defocus (DFD) ensuring high-speed digital signal processing at a maximum of 480 fps. Moreover, the focus areas are increased from 49 to 225 areas on the GH5 in addition to the conventional Face/Eye Recognition resulting in more precise focusing. Further, Panasonic claims that it will be compatible with 400-Mbps 4:2:2 10-bit all-Intra video recording in 4K 30p/25p/24p and 200-Mbps all-Intra Full-HD sometime in second half of 2017.

In terms of photography, the camera is also capable of capturing 6K Photos by extracting the frame from a 6K burst file in 4:3 or 3:2 aspect which saves as an approx. 18-megapixel equivalent high-resolution photo.

The camera comes with a double SD slot which is compatible with high-speed, high-capacity UHS-II which is something new to the Lumix series from Panasonic. Apart from this, it includes and connectivity to offer a more flexible shooting experience and an option to share the content easily.
