The sub-Rs 10,000 Android smartphone segment has seen a major upheaval recently with the launch of Motorola Moto E; never before an affordable handset had made headlines like the Moto E. With Moto E, Motorola has shown the world that it is not impossible to offer a good handset in the affordable segment. Hopefully, we will see more Moto E like (or better) phones from other MNC giants like Samsung, LG, and Sony.

Motorola Moto E has a 4.3-inch touchscreen display with 540×960 pixels resolution. This IPS display has Corning Gorilla Glass coating and is said to have low glare. Moto E is armed with a dual core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 200 processor and 1 GB RAM. It is currently based on Android 4.4.2 KitKat and Motorola has promised the next update as well. It too has a curved back panel, measuring 12.3 mm at the thickest point while 6.2 mm at the thinnest part. It weighs 142 grams.
Moto E has 4 GB on-board storage and offers a Memory card slot that can hold up to 32 GB micro SD card. Note that it is a dual SIM handset and comes with WiFi, Micro USB port, and Bluetooth 4.0. For navigation, it has GPS, GLONASS, and BeiDou. It has FM radio as well.
The Moto E has a 5 megapixel rear camera with Auto HDR, 4x digital zoom, burst mode, and panorama features. Moto E has no front camera though. Motorola has packed a 1960 mAh battery that claims to offer up to 24 hours of talk time.

Xolo Q800 X-Edition
Xolo had introduced the Q800 X-Edition as the successor to the Q800 and packed it with decent features. The Q800 X-Edition features a 4.5-inch IPS LCD display that supports 960×540 pixel resolution. Xolo Q800 X-Edition has a quad-core 1.2 GHz MediaTek MT6589 processor, 1 GB RAM, and Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system.
The phone has an 8 megapixel camera at the back which, as per the company, can record full high definition videos. There is an LED flash in the back as well while in its front lies a 1 megapixel for video calls. It has a 2100 mAh battery that promises decent run time. It too comes with dual SIM configuration of which one supports 3G Networks. Xolo Q800 X-Edition also has Bluetooth, FM Radio and GPS with A-GPS.
Micromax Canvas 2 Plus offers a 5-inch touchscreen display with 480×854 pixel resolution which may not be appealing at first. However, the Canvas 2 Plus is powered by a 1.2 GHz Mediatek MT6589M quad-core processor and PowerVR SGX544 graphics chip. Micromax has added 1 GB RAM to make the device run the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update smoothly.
The smartphone comes packed with 4 GB on-board storage and a 32 GB micro SD card slot. Besides, the Micromax Canvas 2 Plus has an 8 megapixel camera at the back along with LED flash and a 2 megapixel front camera. The rear camera can record HD quality videos. For connectivity, the Micromax Canvas 2 Plus has WiFi along with a 3G network support via one of its SIM module of the two SIM slots. There is a 2000 mAh battery in the phone that might be bit less for this heavy dual-SIM handset users.

Karbonn Titanium S5 Plus
Karbonn Titanium S5 Plus is the successor of the Titanium S5 and, as apparent, comes with some improvements. The S5 Plus has a 5-inch IPS LCD display with 960×540 pixel resolution. Karbonn has loaded the S5 Plus with a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and 1 GB RAM. Though it has only 4 GB internal storage, you can use its expandable memory slot to beef up its storage which can accommodate a maximum of 32 GB micro SD card.
Karbonn has armed the phone with an 8 megapixel rear Autofocus camera and an LED Flash. There is a VGA camera in its front for video calls. The Karbonn Titanium S5 Plus is loaded with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system and comes with WiFi support for faster mobile internet experience. This dual-SIM handset offers 3G SIM support in one of the slots as well. Besides, the phone has Bluetooth, FM Radio and GPS with A-GPS support. For navigation, this dual SIM smartphone WiFi, 3G connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0, and a micro USB port. It has GPS for navigation.
