The first in this list is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro. The phone comes in two variant, 4GB + 64GB for Rs 14,999 and 6GB + 64GB for Rs 16,999. That said, you get some really good specifications with this smartphone. There is a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with a screen resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels, a colour contrast ratio of 1500:1 and 450-nits brightness. The camera of this smartphone is good as well. The phone is backed by a dual-camera setup, making it first smartphone under Redmi series to feature dual rear cameras. The phone features 12-megapixel primary lens with 1.25-micron pixel and f/2.2 along with a 5-megapixel secondary sensor with 1.12-micron pixel and f/2.0 aperture.

For the front, there is a 20-megapixel camera with Sony IMX376 sensor, LED flash and Beautify 4.0. The bokeh effects are quite natural in this smartphone and the selfie camera simply seizes to impress us. This coupled with 4000mAh battery, which can easily last one full day, the Redmi Note 5 Pro can be considered as one good option.

The Nokia 6 (2018) from HMD Global is surely one interesting piece of gadget. Though you get an older 16:9 aspect ratio, the single block aluminium design coupled with diamond cut edges, gives a pretty distinct design language. This also makes it look sturdy. The Nokia 6 (2018) bears a 5.5-inch Full HD display with a screen resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and 2.5d curved display with 3 protection.

The Huawei P20 Lite comes loaded with a glass design, which surely gives a premium look and feels to the device. The phone also features a top-notch, which allows capturing more screen-to-body ratio.

The phone is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 659 processor, which is not as powerful as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor present in Redmi Note 5 Pro, but it is powerful enough to be your daily driver. Another major highlight of this smartphone is the dual rear cameras. There is a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor for bokeh effect. For the front, there is a 16-megapixel shooter.

The shots came out to be good in this one. The phone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo, which is based on the company’s latest EMUI 8.0 and it is backed by a 3000mAh battery, which hardly lasts a full day of moderate. Overall, for Rs 19,999, you are getting a premium design, good display, respectable performance and cameras along with mediocre battery life.

The second last pick in our Top 5 smartphones is the latest Moto G6 smartphone which was launched last month for Rs 13,999. There is also a new variant that comes loaded with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage for Rs 15,999. The Moto G6 is exclusively available on Amazon for purchase. This is the first device from Motorola that takes the leverage of the 18:9 aspect ratio, which has now become a standard in this price range.

It ships with Android 8.0 Oreo operating system with experience. The Moto G6 features a dual-camera setup, which comes with a combination of 16-megapixel primary sensor, which comes with f/1.8 aperture, along with a 5-megapixel secondary lens. For the front, there is a 16-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calling. The Moto G6 is powered by a 3000mAh battery with TurboCharge support and there is a fingerprint sensor on the front embedded in the home button.

In our First Impressions, we wrote, the Moto G6 does come with a premium design and display. It faces a stiff competition with the likes of smartphones such as Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, Realme 1 and Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1.

Oppo has recently introduced, the Oppo F7 in India for Rs 21,990 for the 64GB RAM variant. However, the company has announced a price cut, which brings down the price of the latest smartphone Rs 19,990 and it makes the last contender in the top 5 list.

The phone’s major highlight is the bezel-less display and AI-powered selfie camera. The phone features a 6.23-inch Full HD+ display with a screen resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels along with aspect ratio 19:9, an Apple iPhone X-like notch and 89.9 percent screen-to-body ratio. There is a Notch Assistant through which users can perform a different gesture to navigate between apps.

The smartphone is powered by MediaTek Helio P60 octa-core processor along with Mali-G72MP3 GPU. On the camera front, the Oppo F7 will feature a 25-megapixel selfie camera with real-time preview along with AI Beauty Technology 2.0, AR stickers, bokeh effect and more. For the rear, there will be a 16-megapixel shooter along with LED flash. The smartphone is backed by a 3400mAh battery with AI battery management for a more optimised usage and it runs on ColorOS 5.0, which is based on Android 8.1 Oreo.
