Lenovo K6 Power Hands On

The device is priced at Rs 9,999 and will be available exclusively through Flipkart starting December 6th.

Lenovo today unveiled its new smartphone – K6 Power or as Lenovo claimed ‘Kickass Power’. The smartphone is priced at Rs 9,999 for the 32GB + 3GB RAM variant and will be available exclusively through Flipkart starting December 6th i.e. coming Tuesday. We were at the launch event and had the device for a while to play with so here is our first impression of this device.
Lenovo K6 Power
Starting with the design, Lenovo K6 Power resembles the Vibe K5 a lot, especially when we look at the back of the device. The device is built out of metal and has a solid feel in your hands. Surprisingly, despite the metal body, the phone feels extremely light making the device quite comfortable to hold. The power button and volume rockers sit on the right-hand side while SIM removal tray is located on the left. The micro USB port and the 3.5 mm headphone jack are placed on the top. The device also sports a fingerprint scanner at the back. We tested the fingerprint scanner and it was quick, possibly the quickest we have experienced at this price point.

Complementing the unibody designis a 5-inch Full HD display. At first instance, the display looked fine , but as we bumped up the brightness to the max, we definitely discovered a limit, although with 1080p resolution, the images were crisp enough.

Digging inside, we find a 64 bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 Octa-Core chipset with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. The Lenovo K6 Power runs on 6.0 Marshmallow with Lenovo’s Pure UI on top which was snappy during the time we had the device. Further, we were impressed with Lenovo’s effort to get rid of the bloatware as there were hardly any third-party apps installed on the device. Also, Lenovo added a bunch of cool features in the UI such as Fingerprint Selfie, lock and Long screenshot. Further, there is also a Dual-App mode which lets you run two accounts on an app.

Coming to the camera, Lenovo K6 Power features a 13 megapixel Sony IMX258 sensor with PDAF, Manual Pro Mode, Slow Motion, and Time Lapse. On the front, there is an 8 megapixel Sony sensor as well. Based on the first impression, the rear camera looked decent even though we tested the device in somewhat low lighting conditions. The rear camera can only shoot up to 1080p. However, Lenovo has included a Pro Manual Mode which lets you play around with the ISO, Exposure for better shots. While the front camera failed to impress us. However, we would still recommend you to wait for the detailed camera review before you make any judgement of its performance. Regarding the battery, the Lenovo K6 Power lies up to its name with a 4000 battery which the company claims to last up to 2 days.

Verdict

Overall, the device looks quite promising at this price range and competes directly against Xiaomi's Redmi 3S Prime. Stay updated on this portal for the detailed review and comparison. The device will sell in three colour variants namely Silver, Gold and Space Grey. For detailed specifications click here.
