Huawei today introduced honor series of tablets and smartphones in India which includes Honor 6. Huawei honor 6 will be available exclusively on Flipkart from October 6 for a very competitive price of Rs 19,999.
Huawei Honor 6 offers a 5 inch display, the latest Android 4.4.2 Android operating system, the HiSilicon Kirin 920 Chipset that comprises an octa core processor, Mali T628 MP6 GPU and 3 GB RAM – powerful enough to run high end games as well as for multitasking.
The phone comes in 16 and 32 GB storage versions and has a micro SD card slot that can accommodate a 64 GB card. There is a 13 megapixel auto focus camera and two LED flash lights in the rear panel in the Honor 6 while a 5 megapixel camera is in its front.
The Honor 6 has one SIM slot and is compatible with 4G network. Other than that, the Honor 6 has Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, WiFi with Hotspot feature, DLNA, and a micro USB 2.0 port. It has a 3100 mAh Li-Po battery.
First Impression
At the launch event held in Delhi on Monday, we had a quick glance of the Honor 6 which looks quite decent. It has glass covering on both front and rear panels and is not slippery. Also despite having a 5 inch display, the phone is surprisingly light and compact, you can operate the phone in one hand too (ofcourse for that you need big palms). True, it isn’t the best looking phone in this price segment but it is definitely one of best.
The phone also feels quite sturdy thanks to the metallic strip that covers all its sides except the bottom. Note that it has a non-removable back panel and thus the SIM and micro SD card slots are placed on its right hand side.
The Honor 6 has Android 4.4 KitKat operating system but it has a complete different UI, Emotion 2.3, which does not have a App drawer. Hence, all the apps are kept in the home page itself. There is not much change to the notification bar though.
The Honor 6 has the relatively unknown octa core HiSilicon Kirin 920 processor. Due to lack of time, we hadn’t had a chance to gauge its processing power but it seems formidable along with 3 GB RAM.
For imaging enthusiasts too, the Huawei Honor 6 has lot of appeal in form of 13 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera. But we will give a detailed analysis of its camera capability in a couple of days.
Now any phone with an octa core processor and full HD display is bound to require a lot of power and I guess its 3100 mAh Li-Po battery should be just enough.
