Gionee is gearing up to launch is latest smartphone A1 on March 21 in India. We have used the device for a day and here are is our first impression of the device.
Box Contents
The Gionee A1 box comes in a standard smartphone package, which includes the smartphone, obviously, device literature, in-ear style earphones, adapter, microUSB to USB cable and a SIM ejector tool.
Look and feel
Holding the new Gionee A1 makes you think that you are holding something heavy in your hand and it’s primarilybecause of the 4010 mAh battery. Design wise at first glance it looks like any other smartphone mobile there is in the market with volume keys and the power button on the right side of the phone, the power button is painted with a little red tint when you look at it from the sideways and this helps it to stand out. On the left side of the phone is located the hybrid Dual slim slot.
TheFingerprint sensor on the Gionee A1 is just below the screen(although I would have preferredthe fingerprint sensor on the back side of the phone with the main camera, as it is more convenient to me) also on the front is “SELFIE” camera with the LED flash.
Interface
Coming to the software, the Gionee A1 comes with Android 7.0 Nougat on board with Gionee’s latest Amigo skin on top of it.The brief time we spent with the device UI was working smoothly. There are a lot of pre-loaded apps on the device but the good thing is they can be uninstalled. The Fingerprint scanner was easy to set up and is very quick.
The GIonee A1 is powered by 2.0 GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 Processor coupled with 4GB RAMand 64 GB internal storage which is expandable up to 128GB via micro SD. Based on the first impressions, we didn’t find any bug, glitches or lags. However, we would advise you to wait for our detailed review making n informed choice.
Camera
Talking about the camera, Gionee A1 has a 16-megapixel front camera wich capture good pictures, the front camera is paired with LED Flash to make clicking selfies and recording videos even at night a bit more enjoyable. As far as the front camera is concerned, It has a 13-megapixel shooter. We will talk about the camera quality in detail in our review which is expected in the few days.
Battery
The highlight of Gionee A1 is its massive battery of 4010 mAh and the companyclaims that it can be fully charged in two hours because of the Fast charging solution used in the device.
