Fidget spinners have been a rage in the country, and we have seen so many kinds of spinners. With numerous shape and sizes, we have seen the fever getting to the tech world as well. There are people who have drilled holes in the phones and made fidget spinners out of it, but if you are looking for a device that would spin and work at the same time, then you do not need to drill a hole in your phone. Chinese brand Chilli has brought “K188 Spinner Phone” in the country. Especially made for India which is a feature phone and is also your fidget spinner!
The Chilli K188 comes inGold, Red, Blue and black colours. We received a Gold unit for review. The device is completely made of plastic, but the shiny colour gives it a premium metallic look. However, the colour coating of the device was peeling off after few drops and nail scratch. Other than this, the device fits comfortably in the handand size of a visiting card. Moving to the fidgeting, it is well balanced and symmetrical on both the which allows it to spin easily and smoothly for around 3 minutes. The display of the device is quite bright and visibility under the sun is not an issue, but direct sunlight on the display makes it difficult to see.
The device can be used as a regular mobile or as a Bluetooth for a primary device or even both. To start with, the device supports a micro SIM to use it as a regular device and a micro SD card up to 8GB for audio files. Other than this to connect the device with Bluetooth one will have to pair the Chilli K188 to their primary Android or iOS device, which will allow the user to make and receive from their primary device SIM. For us, this feature was of no use, but would have liked it more is the same could be done from our primary device, which would have been very helpful for single SIM smartphone users.

As far as audio of the device is concerned, never judge a handset from its size. The speaker is pretty loud and clear. The spinner phone startups with a crazy cool tone after switching it ON. In the menu section, the phone features nine options, with the Bluetooth option on the top. It also comes with GPRS connectivity, which is the most frustrating thing touse, as we were not able to reply to a single message on our Facebook account due to its small screen. In our experience.
The 280 mAh battery in the Chilli phone on normal usage lasted around 6-7 hour and as a Bluetooth device without the SIM card, it is powered for an entire day, which makes the device non-suitable as the primary device. Further, in our experience, the device was able to provide a playback time of approximately over an hour with the SIM Card installed and without it for around 2.5 hours. Also, it takes around 15-20 minutes to charge the device completely.
Coming back to the battery, the battery of the device is semi-removable, means it is removable but attached to a very thin wire, like used in a toy. Other than this, the scariest part is inserting a SIM card or microSD card. To insert one, user will have gently lift the battery to access the bars, because it feels as if the wire will break off with a slight jerk.
