Xiaomi has today announced the launch of its new budget-centric smartphone, the Xiaomi Redmi 7, in India. The company has also introduced Redmi Y3 with 32-megapixel selfie camera during the launch event.
It runs on Android 9.0 Pie with MIUI 10 and is backed up by 4000mAh battery.
The Xiaomi Redmi 7 is equipped with a dual rear camera setup with a combination of 12-megapixel primary sensor with LED Flash, 1.12um pixel size, f/2.2 aperture, a secondary sensor of 2-megapixel.
The smartphone will be available for purchase from Mi Home, Mi Stores, Mi.com and online sale channels starting from April 29, 2019.
Xiaomi Redmi 7 features a 6.26-inch HD+ display with a screen resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels, 19:9 aspect ratio, 2.5D curved glass, 84% NTSC Color Gamut and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
The Xiaomi Redmi 7 comes with a price tag of Rs 7,999 for the 2GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage, while the 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage is priced at Rs 8,999.
The Redmi 7 is a refined smartphone as compared to its predecessor. The phone features a new design language, which looks premium and is more appealing in nature.
It is powered by 1.8GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 632 14nm Processor with Adreno 506 GPU.
The smartphone is available in 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage and there is another variant that comes loaded with a 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The memory can be further expanded up to 256GB via microSD card slot.
Connectivity features include dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS + GLONASS.
It measures 158.65 x 76.43 x 8.47mm and the weight is 180 grams.
Looking at the sheer specifications, it will face stiff competition with the likes of Asus Zenfone Max M2, Infinix Smart 3 Plus and more.
