To recall, Xiaomi Redmi 5A smartphone was first launched in China last month at 599 Yuan which is approximately Rs 5,884.
The handset measures 140.4 x 70.1 mm x 8.35 mm and weighs 137g.
Besides the smartphone offers hybrid dual SIM, 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, and a Micro USB port.
The smartphone has been announced in two variants – 2GB RAM with 16GB internal storage priced at Rs 5,999 and 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage priced at Rs 6,999. Interestingly, the brand is offering a discount to first 5 million customers of Rs 1,000, which brings down the cost of 2GB RAM variant to Rs 4,999.
On the camera front, the Redmi 5A sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF, LED Flash, f/2.2 aperture, burst mode, panorama mode, HDR mode, and more. on its back, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies with f/2.0 Aperture lens.
The Redmi 5A gets its strength from decent 3,000 mAh battery and runs on Android Nougat operating system wrapped under MIUI 9.
The Xiaomi Redmi 5A will be exclusively available on Flipkart, company’s official website, Mi Home starting from December 7, 2017, and will be a tough contender to beat in the sub Rs 6,000 segment with some decent specifications for the price.
The Xiaomi Redmi 5A features 5-inch HD display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution and a Pixel density of 296ppi and is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor.
It comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, and expandable storage up to 128GB via microSD. There is also a 3GB RAM and 32GB storage option as well.
