Asus Zenfone 3s Max Camera Samples

The device sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and Dual LED flash whereas we also get an 8-megapixel 85 degrees Field of View front camera.

1
Rear Camera – Outdoors

This shot was taken outdoors in foggy weather conditions and it was not the best lighting conditions. Still, the camera failed to focus the object which resulted in a somewhat blurred overall image. The colours were on point in this one, though.

2
Rear Camera – Indoors

Moving to indoor lighting conditions, the camera does take pictures with decent colours, however, that lack of detail is still here.

3
Rear Camera – Outdoors

The lack of detail and sharpness is evident here as well. The picture is not only fully focused, the colours also appear to be a bit washed out at some places.

4
Rear Camera – Outdoors

This shot was taken using the ‘Super Resolution’ mode. Although we liked the decent increase in sharpness, however, zooming in will reveal that it is all aggressive image processing. Also, colours again appear to be a bit washed out for our liking.

5
Rear Camera – Low light

This picture brings out all the negative points which the rear-camera struggles with in low-light. Poor dynamic range with subpar sharpness and detail all across the image. Further, the camera also failed to handle the glare properly with noise and grain spread in the entire frame.

6
Rear Camera – Low-light

For Low-light photography, we liked the amount of light the rear 13-megapixel camera lets in and the dynamic range was also on par, however, the image is extremely blurry with some poor detailing going on all across the image.

Rear Camera – Outdoors

The rear camera of the Zenfone 3s Max sports a 13-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture. Though the camera takes decent amount of light, but it lacks detail and sharpness in almost all of them. The camera also tends to overexpose the highlights at the back.

8
Rear Camera – Low-light

The same story continues here as well. The camera is just not able to focus well in low-light with the lack of detail present here as well. We can also notice a bit of noise when we zoom in the picture.

9
Front Camera – Low light

However, in low light, the front 8-megapixel camera fails to dig out the same performance. Although it lets in decent amount of lighting, the details have been now replaced by noise and grain all around.

10
Front Camera – Good Light

The selfie camera, however, does a pretty decent job of colour reproduction. The details in this picture particularly are also impressive. However, we would recommend you take the shot with no effects such as Beautification which makes the image looks a lot artificial.

11
Rear Camera – Low light (HDR)

Testing the HDR Pro mode in low-light, the resulting image lets in a lot of lighting which results in a pretty blurry output. It does improve on dynamic range, as expected, but the resulting image (on the right) is just not an impressive HDR shot.

Rear Camera – Outdoors (HDR)

Clicking the image with HDR Pro mode, it does improve the dynamic range but it is still not up with the other device’s cameras in this price range. The trees at the background still appear to be overexposed while the HDR Pro mode darkens foreground.

Front Camera – Good Light

The selfie camera, however, does a pretty decent job of colour reproduction. The details in this picture particularly are also impressive. However, we would recommend you take the shot with no effects such as Beautification which makes the image looks a lot artificial.
