ZTE Axon 7 Android Oreo Beta update now rolling out

ZTE Axon 7 was launched last year with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.

Recently, it was reported that ZTE has officially confirmed to roll out the Oreo update to Axon 7 in April 2018. Now, it seems that the company has rolled out the latest Android Oreo Beta update to the Axon 7. The beta update for Axon 7 is currently rolled out in the US and also said to come with Google’s January security patch.

Being a beta program, the software is not yet fully optimized for the device and users may experience some bugs till a stable version is released. ZTE launched its flagship device under its Axon series in China, the ZTE Axon 7 last year with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. The smartphone was then updated to Android 7.0 Nougat last year.

The Android 8.0 Oreo comes with several new features like picture-in-picture mode that lets users to two tasks simultaneously. So, for example, one can minimise a YouTube video while sending a text message or writing an email. Google has also introduced Android Vitals, which helps in optimizing battery life, startup time and more. Under system optimizations, the company had made it easier to run faster and smoother.

Then there are the Notification dots, which are basically tiny chat heads for notifications. The user can long-tap on a Notification Dot and it will preview the notification, and one can swipe to dismiss, drag down to see the full notification or tap to open the app. Google made it easier to remember your passwords with Autofill framework. This allows users to autofill the user id and passwords, which makes it easier to log in to different apps, while you are setting up a new device.
