Yamaha R15 MotoGP edition to hit Indian shores in August

The R15 MotoGP edition is already available in Southeast Asia at a price tag of IDR 35,100,000, which is expected to be price roughly around Rs 1.67 Lakh (ex-showroom) in India. Meanwhile, the standard variant of the R15 is selling for Rs 1.26 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Japanese motorcycle manufacturer, Yamaha is all set tounveil the MotoGP edition of its most popular sports bike, R15 V3.0, in India in August. Similar to the brand’s MotoGP machines, the new variant will only be available in Blue colour. Further, the Movistar and ENEOS branding can be seen upfront above the headlights and on the side fenders.

It is worth noting that the MotoGP edition is already available in Southeast Asia at a price tag of IDR 35,100,000, which is expected to be price roughly around Rs 1.67 Lakh (ex-showroom) in India. Meanwhile, the standard variant of the R15 is selling for Rs 1.26 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

According to a report by Autocar India, although the international variant of the bike comes with the USD fork suspension at the front, the Indian machine will be equipped with the conventional telescopic fork, similar as the standard variant. Other than this, the Yamaha MotoGP racing riders numbers of Valentino Rossi (46) and Maverick Vinales (25) will be missing on the bikes.

Apart from the visual appearance, the V3.0 specifications remain the same. The bike willbe powered by a 155cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, which can churn out the maximum power of 19 bhp along and a peak torque of 15 Nm, while the engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission. The bike also comes equipped with a slip and assist clutch assembly.
