Xolo, a part of Lava International, will launch six Android handsets in the next 30 days in the price range of Rs 7, 000 to Rs 25,000.
Sunil Raina, business head, Xolo at Lava International, said to The Mobile Indian, “In the next 30 days we will be launching five ICS based and one Jelly Bean based handset in the market.â€
He added, “They will have mix of Intex, Qualcomm and MediaTek processors with display size varying between 3.5 – 5 inch.”
Apart from these six phones Xolo will launch an Nvidia Tegra 4 quad core Processor smartphone by March this year. S N Rai, co founder and director of Lava International, said to The Mobile Indian earlier, “We are in the process of evaluating the option to launch an Nvidia Tegra 4 smartphone. While Nvidia is yet to release a reference design based on the latest quad core chipset, we are hopeful that we will be able to bring a product based on the Chipset by the end of February or March this year.”
While he did not disclose other details about the handset or the chipset, as per the details available online, Tegra 4 will pack six times the graphics power of Tegra 3, which is currently used in high end smartphones including HTC One X. Nvidia Tegra 4 will be manufactured with 28 nm fabrication technology and will have a compact design compared to the Tegra 3. The Tegra 4 will feature four processing cores and a fifth battery saver core. It will pack 72 graphic cores to deliver six times better graphics power compared to Tegra 3 mobile processors, and twenty times the processing power of the Tegra 2. The Tegra 4 is based on an ARM Cortex-A15 processor design and will compete with Samsung Exynos 5 as well as Qualcomm’s Krait based Snapdragon processors.
