Xiaomi, which today launched the Redmi 2 smartphone in India, has also announced the launch of Mi Pad in India for Rs 12,999.The Mi Pad is Xiaomi’s first tablet offering in the Indian market. Unlike other Xiaomi devices, the Mi Pad will be available in the Indian market without any registration from March 24.
The Xiaomi Mi Pad has a 7.9 inch IPS display with appreciable 326 ppi pixel density (2048 x 1536 resolution) and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It runs on the powerful NVIDIA Tegra K1 quad-core 2.2 GHz ARM Cortex-A15 processor that comes with Kepler GPU which is said to be 1.5 times more energy efficient than other mobile GPUs. Also it has 2 GB DDR3 RAM and huge 16 GB internal memory.
The Mi Pad has an 8 Megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera. It has WiFi, WiFi Direct, and Bluetooth 4.0. The tablet has a 6700 mAh battery. It has the Android 4.4 operating system.
