Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 7 and Note 7 Pro smartphones in India last week. Now it has revealed a long list of features that are coming to its latest smartphones through MIUI 10 or MIUI 11 software updates. While several of these features are to be added as an update to MIUI 10 itself, there are some little additions to the next version of the interface which will be labelled as MIUI 11 when it releases.
The latest development comes from Xiaomi’s official MIUI forum list where the Chinese company has revealed all the features that we could expect to come on MIUI 10. One of the notable features that we expect to make big news is a system-wide Dark mode which will be similar to the dark mode o Samsung’s One UI-running handsets or the dark-theme on a macOS machine.
In addition to that, future updates to MIUI will add new sound effects, Advanced Dolby effects, Screen wake-up using voice, screen activation through voice and the ability to view the lock screen after unlocking the device through Face Unlock without jumping to the home screen. Additionally, users will also get an option to automatically delete APK files, a child mode, stereo Bluetooth audio when playing games and viewing emergency contacts on the lock screen.
Besides that, the upcoming MIUI 11 is expected to get a Recycle bin inside a photo album, better App permission, voice-activated shutter, ability to delete screen-captures immediately, automatically delete unwanted texts, Read and Delete options for messages, Zooming options while playing videos and displaying hourly traffic consumptions.
Xiaomi has also kept some of the suggested features under review before developing the same for a stable update. These include better third-party payment integration, reminders postponement, data consumption when offering hotspot and setting a default SIM when dealing a specific contact.
A complete list of upcoming features can be accessed by heading over to the MIUI forum when you click here. While some of these features are already available in XIaomi’s Chinese MIUI ROM, the global version of the same is yet to run them and we can expect a slew of updates featuring the same in the coming months.
