Xiaomi has today launched its new smartphone – Redmi S2 in China. The Xiaomi Redmi S2 comes in two variants – 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage priced at 999 Yuan (approx. Rs 10,560) and 1299 Yuan (approx. Rs 13,722) respectively. The smartphone comes in Gray, Rose gold, Champagne Gold and Platinum Silver colour variants.
The Xiaomi Redmi S2 features 5.99-inch HD+ display with 1440 x 720 pixels resolution and an aspect ratio of 18:9. It is powered by a 2GHz Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor with Adreno 506 GPU. It comes with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage, and expandable storage up to 256GB via microSD. The Redmi S2 gets its strength from decent 3,080 mAh battery and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system wrapped under MIUI 9. There’s a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor as well.
On the camera front, the Redmi S2 sports a dual rear camera of 12-megapixel primary camera with PDAF, LED Flash and 5-megapixel secondary camera for AI portrait shots. It has a 16-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies. Besides the smartphone offers dual SIM, 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and a Micro USB port. The handset measures 160.73 x 77.26 mm x 8.1 mm and weighs 170g.
