Xiaomi held the first flash sale of the newly launched Redmi Note 4 yesterday via Flipkart and mi.com. The company made available the 3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage variant and 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage variant in the yesterday’s sale. Interestingly, as per the company, the new Redmi Note 4 was sold out in just 10 minutes. Further, the company also revealed that it sold about 250,000 units of the new smartphone in the Redmi Note series which is much higher when compared with the first flash sale of the Redmi 3S or last year’s Redmi Note 3. Xiaomi also claimed that the over 1 million users came on board by tapping on the ‘Notify Me’ and over five million unique visitors on both Flipkart and Mi.com combined.
Meanwhile, the Chinese handset manufacturer has also rolled out the first developer preview based on Android N for the device. You can download the update from here. Note that, the update is still in development stage and may not be very stable so we request you to backup all your data before flashing the new update.
Quickly briefing the specifications, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 comes with a 5.5-inch full HD (1920 x 1080) 2.5D curved glass display and a 2.0 GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 625 processor with Adreno 506 GPU. The hybrid dual SIM smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating and has a 4100 mAh battery. In terms of design, the smartphone is near identical to the Redmi Note 3 with a fingerprint scanner at the back.
For the storage, it comes with 2GB RAM + 32GB internal storage, 3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB of internal storage variants, all of which are expandable via microSD card. The smartphone offers a 13-megapixel Autofocus rear camera with dual tone LED flash, PDAF, f/2.0 Aperture and a 5-megapixel front camera. On the connectivity front, the device offers 4G with VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), GPS with AGS/GLONASS and USB Type C. The handset measures 151 x 76 x 8.35mm and weighs 175 g.
