Xiaomi Redmi K20, K20 Pro to go official in India on July 17

Redmi India’s official Twitter account has confirmed that the Redmi K20 series will be launched on July 17. The tweet read that the devices to debut will be the standard Redmi K20 as well as the Redmi K20 Pro.

A month afterXiaomi India Head Manu Jain revealedthat theRedmi K20 and K20 Prowill be released in India in July, Redmi India has now confirmed the date of the launch. The Redmi K20 and K20 Pro smartphones will now be unveiled in India on July 17.

The news comes directly from Redmi India’s official Twitter account who confirmed that the Redmi K20 series will be launched on July 17. The tweet read that the devices to debut will be the standard Redmi K20 as well as the Redmi K20 Pro. As a dig aimed at OnePlus, Xiaomi has termed the Redmi K20 as the “Flagship Killer 2.0”.

The company recently alsoannounced the Mi Explorer programfor Redmi K20 Pro. Under the Explorer program, the company will offer its fans early access to the Redmi K20 Pro ahead of its official launch in the country. The fans can use the device and explore its features before others.

To recall, the Redmi K20 Pro features a 6.39-inch Samsung AMOLED Full display with a resolution of 2280×1080 pixels, 91.9 per cent screen-to-body ratio. It’s powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 7nm chipset, 4000mAh battery and 27W support.

The Pro model comes with a triple rear camera setup that combines a Sony IMX586 48MP ultra-clear primary sensor with f/1.75, a 13-megapixel secondary super sensor with f/ 2.4 and an 8-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. There’s a 20-megapixels pop-selfie module with a sapphire lens cover at the top which can rise in 0.8 seconds. The pop-up camera module has a lifespan of 300,000 cycles. Additionally, the Pro will feature a 3P lens-type optical fingerprinting system, Game Turbo 2.0, DC dimming technology and GPS. The phone will inlcude USB Type C port, 3.5mm jack, NFC, VoLTE, WiFi, WiFi hotspot, Bluetooth, and Dual with dual standby for connectivity.

The standard K20 smartphones comes with a 6.39-inch AMOLED Full HD+ display and an in-display fingerprint sensor. It’s powered by a Snapdragon 730 8nm processor, Adreno 618 GPU, 4000mAh battery and 18W fast charging. The K20 has a triple rear camera setup, combining a Sony IMX582 48MP ultra-clear primary sensor, a 13-megapixel secondary sensor and an 8-megapixel depth sensor. The phones also carriesa 20-megapixels pop-selfie module at the top.
