Xiaomi’s Redmi 3S and 3S Prime were a great success last year as the device hit the 1 million unit sales mark in just over three months. Interestingly, Xiaomi is expected to launch a new Redmi smartphone on May 16 and in all probability, it will be Xiaomi Redmi 4. The company recently launched its super budget friendly – Redmi 4A (Rs 5,999) and the ever famous Redmi Note 4 in India. For the Redmi 4, we expect the company to price the device under Rs 9,999 as it will be an upgrade to last year’s Redmi 3S Prime.
For the expected specifications, the Redmi 4 will come with a 5-inch 720p display which is likely to be 2.5D curved. On the inside, the Redmi 4 will pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 chipset. For comparison, the Redmi 3S Prime have a Snapdragon 430 Chipset inside. Besides, we will see 3GB of RAM along with 32GB of internal storage which will be expandable via microSD. A 2GB RAM + 16GB internal storage variant is also speculated.
For the camera, Xiaomi will go down with a 13-megapixel rear camera along with a 5-megapixel front camera. We expect Xiaomi Redmi 4 to improve on the camera as there is not a lot of difference in the internal specifications department. For the juice, the company will yet again give a 4100 mAh battery. The device is likely to come with a fingerprint scanner and Android 6.0 Marshmallow seems to be the OS out-of-the-box.
