Xiaomi is expected to host a launch event next week on August 25 during which it is expected to launch Xiaomi’s Redmi 4. Though there have been no official declaration about the same, a lot of leaked specifications and images have been released recently. In the latest round of leaks, the smartphone has been reportedly spotted on famous Chinese certification site TENAA. Though the website doesn’t mention any image or name of the device, the specifications are known to be of the Redmi 4.
According to the website, the Xiaomi Redmi 4 will run on Android 6.0 marshmallow with MIUI 8 on top. It will come with a 5 inch full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display. TENAA listed dimensions of the Redmi 4 to be 141.3×69.6×8.9mm and weight to be 160 grams. Powering the device will be the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset clocked at 2GHz. For the graphics, the Redmi 4 will come with Adreno 506 GPU. Following the previous pattern, the Redmi 4 will have two storage options, 2GB RAM/16GB storage and 3GB RAM/32GB storage. Both the variants will have an option to expand the storage via microSD card.
In the camera department, the smartphone is reported to have a 13 MP rear camera with LED flash coupled with a 5 MP front camera. Similar to the Redmi 3S/Prime, the Redmi 4 is likely to come with massive 4000 mAh battery, a finger print scanner and an infrared sensor. For connectivity, it will have 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac (2.4 and 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, and GPS.
Concluding the previous leaks, the Redmi 4 will be launched at a price starting from CNY 699 which is approx. INR 7,000. Well, if the Redmi 4 is launched at this price, it can be yet another winner from the Chinese smartphone manufacturer.
Apart from the Redmi 4, Xiaomi is also likely to launch another smartphone which is tipped to be the Mi Note 2 in an event set to happen on September 2. The Note 2 is rumoured to come with dual camera setup and dual EDGE display. Regarding the price, the smartphone will probably launched around Rs 25,000.
