Xiaomi today announced the launch of its new Redmi series smartphone, the Xiaomi Redmi 3S. The Xiaomi Redmi 3S comes in two variants – 2GB RAM with 16GB Internal Memory and 3GB RAM with 32GB internal memory. The 2GB variant is priced at 699 Yuan (US$ 107) or approximately Rs 7,127 while the 3GB variant will cost you 899 Yuan (US$ 136) or approximately Rs 9,162. The device will be available for sale in China from 16th June.
Xiaomi Redmi 3S features a 5-inch HD (720 x 1280 pixels) IPS display and is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 (4 x 1.2 GHz Cortex A53 + 4 x 1.5 GHz Cortex A53) 64-bit processor. It has Adreno 505 GPU and 2GB/3GB RAM. The hybrid dual SIM based smartphone runs on Android Lollipop based MIUI 7 operating and has a 4100 mAh battery. It has full metal unibody design and features a fingerprint sensor located at the back.
The Xiaomi Redmi 3S comes with 16/32GB of internal storage, which is further expandable by up-to 128GB via a micro SD card. The smartphone boasts a 13-megapixel Autofocus rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front camera. On the connectivity front, the device offers 4G, Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), GPS with AGS/GLONASS and Micro-USB 2.0. The handset measures 139.3 x 69.6 x 8.5mm and weighs 144 grams.
The Xiaomi Redmi 3S will come in three colors – Dark Grey, Silver and Gold colors. No information about its release in India is available right now.
