Xiaomi has today announced the launch of its much speculated Redmi 3 smartphone. The Xiaomi Redmi 3 is priced at 699 Yuan (US$ 107) or approximately Rs 7,140. The device is now listed on the company’s China website and will be available for sale in China from tomorrow, i.e. January 12th.
Xiaomi Redmi 3 features a 5-inch HD (720 x 1280) IPS display and is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 (4 x 1.2 GHz Cortex A53 + 4 x 1.5 GHz Cortex A53) 64-bit processor. It has Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB RAM. The dual sim based smartphone runs on Android Lollipop operating and has a 4100 mAh battery. It has full metal unibody and a new diamond lattice design made up of 4166 stars woven together.
The Xiaomi Redmi 3 comes with 16GB of internal storage, which is further expandable up-to 128GB via microSD card. The smartphone flaunts a 13-megapixel Autofocus rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front camera. On the connectivity front, the device offers 4G, Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi (802.11 b/g/n (2.4 GHz)), GPS with AGS/GLONASS and Micro-USB 2.0. The handset measures 139.3 x 69.6 x 8.5mm and weighs 144 grams.
The Xiaomi Redmi 3 will come in three colors – Dark Grey, Silver, Gold and Classic Gold colors. No information about its release in India is available right now.
