Xiaomi Redmi 2, Huawei Honor 6 Plus launching in India this week

The Moto E 2nd Gen and Redmi 2 are most likely will be budget devices while the Honor 6 Plus will be priced in the mid-range segment.

This week is going to be a blockbuster week in India. Motorola Moto E (2nd Gen) has already been launched for Rs 6,999 for version. Meanwhile, Xiaomi Redmi 2 is all set to be launched on Thursday while the Honor 6 Plus will make its debut in India on Friday.

Xiaomi’s Redmi 2

Redmi 2 offers a 4.7 inch IPS display as the Redmi 1S. The Redmi 2 has a 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 410 quad core processor while its predecessor has Snapdragon 400 quad core processor. However, there is no change in the memory front – like the 1S, it has 1 RAM, 8 GB ROM, and 32 GB expandable storage slot.

It has an 8 megapixel rear camera as the older handset while the front camera is bumped to 2 megapixel from 1.6 MP of Redmi 1S. The Redmi 2 is based on 4.4 and comes with WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, FM, and dual SIM with connectivity.

Huawei Honor 6 Plus

The Huawei Honor 6 Plus comes with a 5.5 inch display with full HD resolution. Despite being a big phablet, the Honor 6 Plus weighs only 165 grams and is 7.5 mm thick. Like the Honor 6, it comes with 3 GB RAM, 128 GB micro card slot, and comes in 16 GB and 32 GB inbuilt storage variants.

The new Honor 6 Plus uses HiSilicon Kirin 925 octa core (4×1.8GHz Cortex A15 4×1.3GHz Cortex A7) processor and Mali T628 compared to HiSilicon Kirin 920 octa core processor and Mali T628 MP6 GPU of the older Honor 6. Since it has a bigger display, Huawei has armed the new Honor 6 Plus with a 3600 battery compared to 3100 mAh unit of Honor 6.

Furthermore, the handset also acts as a power bank and hence you can charge your other devices using the Honor 6 Plus.

The new Huawei Honor 6 Plus has been announced in both 4G and 3G variants. Besides, this dual SIM smartphone has Bluetooth 4.0 LE, NFC, and a 2.0 port. The major attraction of this device is its dual 8 megapixel rear camera along with a dual flash and 8 megapixel front camera.

This smartphone was first unveiled December last year in an event in Beijing during which we had had a chance to have a look at it. You can read that hands on of Huawei Honor 6 Plus HERE.
