Xiaomi had introduced its flagship smartphone, Poco F1, last year. However, the device did not support Widevine L1 support, which prevents the phone from streaming HD content. Now, the company has finally rolled out support Widevine L1 in the new beta update.
C Manmohan, General Manager, Poco India, has confirmed that the Poco F1 is now Widevine L1 certified. The tweet read, “Guys! You asked for it, we got it. #POCOF1 is now Widevine L1 certified. We have started rolling out an OTA update (version – 9.2.25) for beta users. Once the beta test is complete, we shall roll it in the upcoming stable updates. We really appreciate your patience.”

He confirmed that the support is currently available for beta testers with version 9.2.25. Once the beta testing is completed, the stable update will be rolled out to the Poco F1. With this, the Poco F1 users will now be able to stream HD content on Amazon Prime Videos and Netflix. The company previously, confirmed that it is in talks with Qualcomm and Google to release an update to the Poco F1 to roll out Widevine L1.
The Poco F1 comes in three variants – 6GB RAM + 64GB internal storage at Rs 20,999, 6GB RAM + 128GB internal storage at Rs 23,999 and 8GB RAM + 256GB internal storage at Rs 28,999. The Xiaomi Poco F1 features a 6.18-inch Full HD+ (2246 x 1080 Pixel resolution) display with a notch at the top and 19:9 aspect ratio with 500nits brightness. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Processor clocked at up to 2.8 GHz with Adreno 630 GPU.
