Xiaomi might launch a new flagship smartphone in India: Report

Xiaomi is reportedly working on to launch a new flagship smartphone for the Indian market. The company’s latest smartphone is reported to codenamed as “Beryllium” and the latest leak reveals some key specs and features.

Folks at XDA Developers spotted few firmware files on “Beryllium” phone and they say this could be a flagship device. The report highlights that two methods link “Beryllium” to India. One of them is called “isIndiaBeautyFilter” and another one is “getDualCameraWaterMarkFilePathVendor.” The company says that both check a build property called “ro.boot.hwc” that returns true only if it is “India”. This simply means that the company might be prepping a flagship device, especially, for the Indian market. The report further reveals that the smartphone could be under “Poco” brand, which recently got certified with “Pocophone”.

The report also highlights some key features and specs of the upcoming device. To start with, the device will feature an display and it might sport an 18:9 aspect ratio. The phone will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor along with Adreno 630 GPU. It will feature dual rear cameras and there might possibility that it might come support as well.

The said smartphone is reported to be backed by a 4000mAh battery and it runs on 8.1 Oreo, which might be based on the company’s latest MIUI 10. The phone will also feature a fingerprint sensor, however, the report highlights that there might be no in-display scanner in this one. However, apart from this, there is no information about the said device, so we suggest you take this report with a pinch of salt.
