Xiaomi’s Mi Pad is now available for purchase in India. The 16 GB version of the tablet is available from Flipkart for Rs 12,999. Also, no registration is required to purchase the tablet as is the case with other Xiaomi devices sold in India.
The Xiaomi Mi Pad has a 7.9 inch IPS display with appreciable 326 ppi Pixel density (2048 x 1536 resolution) and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It runs on the powerful NVIDIA Tegra K1 quad-core 2.2 GHz ARM Cortex-A15 processor that comes with Kepler GPU which is said to be 1.5 times more energy efficient than other mobile GPUs. Also it has 2 GB DDR3 RAM and huge 16 GB internal memory. There is an expandable storage slot as well which can accommodate a micro SD card of up to 128 GB capacity.
The Mi Pad has an 8 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera. It has WiFi, WiFi Direct, and Bluetooth 4.0. The tablet has a 6700 mAh battery. It has the Android 4.4 operating system.
Note it has no SIM slot and it is a WiFi only tablet.
