Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha with 4D surround display, 108MP rear camera and Mi 9 Pro 5G announced

The company has introduced Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro and Mi Mix Alpha during the launch event.

Xiaomi has today announced the launch of the latest 5-enabled smartphones in China during a launch event. The company has introduced Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro and Mi Mix Alpha during the launch event.

The Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro comes with a price tag of 3699 Yuan (approx. Rs 37,000) for 8GB + 128GB storage, 3799 Yuan (approx. Rs 37,900) for 8GB RAM + 256GB storage, 4099 Yuan (approx. Rs 40,900) for 12GB RAM + 256GB storage and 4299 Yuan (approx. Rs 42,900) for 12GB RAM + 512GB storage.

Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro

Starting with the Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro, the smartphone comes loaded with a premium glass design and it will be available in Dream White and Titanium Black colour options. The smartphone is backed by a 6.39-inch Full Samsung with a screen resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. The smartphone is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ along with Adreno 640 GPU.

On the camera front, it is loaded with a triple-camera setup, which comes with a combination of 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor primary lens with f/1.75 aperture, a 12-megapixel telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom, f/2.2 and 16-megapixel ultra camera with 117-degree FOV with 4cm macro photography. For the front, there is a 20-megapixel front-facing camera. The Mi 9 Pro comes loaded with VC liquid cooling with 5 layers of graphite sheet.

The smartphone as the name suggests is meant for 5G network and it features 7 design for better network reception. The phone also comes loaded with a customised linear motor that offers haptic feedback along with 150 interactive modules for typing, gestures camera zoom and games.

The smartphone runs on the latest MIUI 11 and it is backed by a 4000mAh battery. The company has added 45W charger with the box and the smartphone also supports 30W fast wireless charging. The smartphone also supports 10W reverse wireless charging technology as well. It comes equipped with 1.04CC sound cavity with a 1217 super linear speaker, Smart PA and LHDC (Low and High Definition Codec) technology. On the connectivity front, it supports G, Dual VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac dual-band (2×2 MU-MIMO ), 5, Dual-frequency (L1+L5) GPS, and Type-C

The company has also introduced a new concept smartphone known as Mi Mix Alpha. The major highlight of the latest smartphone is the new 4D surrounding curved display that comes with a whopping 180.6 per cent screen-to-body ratio. To put it in simple terms, the smartphone is wrapped in a single display. The smartphone comes with pressure-sensitive virtual side buttons on both sides. It also comes with a linear motor that simulates the touch of physical buttons.

The smartphone comes with new scene scenario detection that activates different things like when you are at home, it will open Mi Home or if you are at an airport, it will show flight information. It also comes with mis-touch detection that uses multi-sensors and AI algorithms to deactivate inactive areas.

The Mi MIX Alpha is the world’s first smartphone that comes loaded with a whopping 108-megapixel ultra-high resolution camera with the 1/1.33-inch ultra large image sensor and 12032 x 9024 pixels. The smartphone features a triple-camera setup with primary being the 108-megapixel sensor along with a 20-megapixel ultra wide-angle lens with 1.5cm macro photography, 117-degree field of view, f/2.2 aperture and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera with f/2.0 aperture, f/2.55-inch sensor size and dual PD.

As for the build quality is concerned, the smartphone is made from aerospace-grade titanium alloy frame with ceramic back strip and full sapphire glass cover. The smartphone is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor and it supports 5G as well. The phone is backed by a 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage and it is backed by a 4050mAh nano silicon cathode battery with 40W wired support.
