Xiaomi has made a slew of announcements with the launch of Mi Mix and Mi Note 3 smartphones along with a Mi Notebook Pro laptop in China. However, it seems that the company is planning to its bezel-less smartphone, the Mi Mix 2, in India soon.
The news was confirmed by Manu Jain, Group Vice President and Managing Director, Xiaomi India through his official Twitter handle. The tweet reads, “Breaking news Mi Fans: Mi MIX 2 will be launching in India soon,” along with an image that shows the specs and price of the latest smartphone.

Interestingly, it has been a long time since Xiaomi has announced a flagship smartphone in India. The last one was Mi 5, which was launched sometime in April last year and since then, there has been a long gap. The brand has launched a plethora of devices in the budget and mid-range segments, but there no launch in the premium or mid-premium range.
Coming to the Mi Mix 2 smartphone, it comes in three variants – 6GB RAM with 64GB internal storage is priced at 3299 Yuan or approximately Rs 32,346, 6GB RAM with 128GB internal storage is priced at 3599 Yuan or approximately Rs 35,275 while the 6GB variant with 256GB internal storage will cost you 3999 Yuan or approximately Rs 39,210. Xiaomi has also announced a special edition model of the Mi MIX 2 which comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage at 4,699 Yuan which is approximately Rs 46,000.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 comes features a metal chassis with the ceramic rear body and comes with a 5.99-inch (2160 x 1080) Super AMOLED with an 18:9 full-screen display and a bezel-less display. It is powered by 2.45 GHz octa-core Snapdragon 835 64-bit Processor along with Adreno 540 GPU. The dual SIM smartphone runs on Android 7.1 Nougat operating with MIUI 9 and has a non-removable 3400 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 technology.

The Special Edition variant with 8GB of RAM features a ceramic unibody design and some special gold-coated rims on the main camera sensor and a rear-facing fingerprint scanner.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix offers a 12-megapixel Autofocus rear camera with dual tone LED flash, Sony IMX386 sensor, 4-axis OIS, f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens, PDAF, HDR. On the right of the lens is a dual LED flash and below it is a fingerprint scanner. For the front, there is a 5-megapixel camera that supports face recognition and also has autofocus.
On the connectivity front, the device offers 4G with VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), GPS with AGS/GLONASS and USB Type C. Unfortunately the device lacks 3.5mm Headphone jack but instead, the device will be shipped with a USB Type-C dongle. The handset measures 158.8 x 81.9 x 7.9mm and weighs 209 grams.The 6GB RAM Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 measures 151.8 x 75.5 x 7.7mm, and weighs 185, while the 8GB RAM model measures 150.5 x 74.6 x 7.7mm, and weighs 187 grams.
