Xiaomi Mi Max 3 passes 3C certification in China, launch imminent?

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun revealed last month that the Mi Max 3 is estimated to be announced in July this year. The Mi Max 3 is also said to come with a host of interesting features including wireless charging, iris scanner and more.

Xiaomi launched Mi Max 2 in India last year for Rs 16,999 and now Xiaomi is working on the upcoming Mi Max 3 smartphone. A new Xiaomi phone with model number M1807E8S has got the necessary 3C certification in China which is said to be none other than upcoming Mi Max 3. The listing indicates the launch of the said smartphone is around the corner.

Although the 3C certification posted on Weibo did not reveal much, the certification has revealed that the alleged Mi Max 3 carries support for 5V / 3A, 9V / 2A and 12V / 1.5A. The devices come with a charger supporting 18W output. There is no information available on the specifications of the phone in the 3C listing.

The smartphone already surfaced earlier this year with interesting features including wireless charging, iris scanner and more. Earlier, the images of a protective TPU (Thermoplastic polyurethane) case of the Mi Max 3 also surfaced online which revealed its design features. The images revealed that the rear panel of the phone will have a fingerprint scanner. At the top-left corner of the case, there is the cutout for a vertical dual camera setup which confirms the presence of a vertical dual-camera setup on the back.

The Xiaomi Mi Max 3 is said to come loaded with an 18:9 display and a 6.99-inch Full display. As per earlier multiple reports, the smartphone will be powered by Snapdragon 636 or Snapdragon 660. The Mi Max 3 will reportedly be running on Oreo that will be skinned with MIUI 9. The Mi Max 3 will come in two variants – 3GB with 64GB internal storage and 4GB RAM with 128GB internal storage.

The smartphone will be backed by a 5,500mAh battery and interestingly, it could feature wireless charging. As far as the pricing is concerned, the leaks have also revealed that the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 base variant will be priced at 1,699 Yuan which is approximately Rs 16,842.
