Xiaomi Mi Max 2 now confirmed to launch on May 25, here is what to expect

Earlier, the smartphone was rumoured to be launched on May 23.

Earlier in this week, we have reported that Xiaomi Mi Max 2 smartphone is rumoured to be launching on May 23. But now we have the confirmed news that the Mi Max 2 smartphone is going to launch in China on May 25 instead of May 23 as rumoured earlier. Xiaomi has now officially started teasing the Mi Max 2 launch on the said date via Weibo, a Chinese social media platform.

Here are the expected specifications based on new and earlier reports:

Xiaomi Mi Max 2 will have a 12-megapixel Sony IMX378 rear sensor with a larger to get the better image quality, and on its front, it said to have a 5-megapixel selfie camera. The rear camera will be capable of shooting videos at (3840 x 2160) resolution. The Mi Max 2 expected to have a metal unibody design and the rear camera sits on the upper left of the device, along with Dual LED flashlight, a fingerprint scanner placed on its back panel, USB Type-C port on the bottom with speaker holes, a jack and an port on the top.

Further, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is expected have two variants. The standard version will be powered by Snapdragon 626 processor, in contradictory to the earlier rumour which hinted towards the use of Snapdragon 625 SoC. The smartphone is rumoured to cost around 1,499 Yuan (approximately Rs 14,013), while the premium variant will come equipped with Snapdragon 660 and said to be priced at 1,699 Yuan (approximately Rs 15,883).

Moreover, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 will feature a 6.4-inch full display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It will have a 4GB/6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB of internal storage. The smartphone will run on 7.1.1 Nougat operating system which will be wrapped under MIUI and will be backed up by a 5,000mAh battery. Besides, the smartphone offers WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, Accelerometer, Barometer, Digital compass, Light sensor, Gyroscope, Pedometer and Proximity sensor.
