Xiaomi Mi 9 launched with triple rear cameras, Snapdragon 855 SoC and in-display fingerprint sensor

Xiaomi has today launched its next flagship smartphone in China – Xiaomi Mi 9. For the pricing, the smartphone comes in 6GB + 128GB storage priced at 2,999 Yuan (Rs 32,220 approx.) and 8GB RAM + 128GB storage will be priced at 3,299 Yuan (Rs 34,912 approx.),

There is also Mi 9 Transparent Edition featuring a faux transparent back and it is priced at 3,999 Yuan (Rs 42,311 approx). It comes 12GB RAM + 256GB storage configuration. A lower-end variant called Mi 9 SE was also unveiled at the event, featuring a smaller 5.97-inch display and 3070mAh battery. The standard Xiaomi Mi 9 comes in three colours – Deep Space Grey, Gradient Blue and Gradient Purple.

The Xiaomi Mi 9 features a 6.39-inch full S-AMOLED display with waterdrop notch. The display comes with 600-nit brightness, Sunlight mode 2.0, Reading mode 2.0, Always-on Display and 103.8 percent NTSC wide color gamut. The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 coupled with 6GB/8GB/12GB RAM. It also features an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The Xiaomi phone features a rear-mounted triple camera setup with a combination of Sony IMX586 48-megapixel primary sensor, a 16-megapixel lens and 12-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x support. On the front side, the phone is fitted with a 20-megapixel selfie camera. This is the first Xiaomi phone to feature three cameras at the back.

Mi 9 runs on the latest 9 Pie OS out-of-the-box with the company’s own custom interface MIUI 10. It is backed up by 3,300mAh battery with support for 27W and 20W fastest wireless charging. For dimensions, the phone will measure 155 x 75 x 7.6mm.
