Xiaomi is all set to launch the Xiaomi Mi 8th Anniversary Edition smartphone on May 31 at the launch event to be held in Shenzhen, China. Now a photo has been leaked online which has revealed the pricing of the two variants of the Mi 8.
The next flagship might likely be called the Mi 8 Anniversary Edition or just Mi 8 to keep things simple. The company is also expected to announce a couple of products which might include the Mi Max 3 and Mi Band 3.
As per the leak which surfaced on Chinese micro blogging website, Weibo, via Playfuldroid, the Mi 8 will come in two variants, a 6GB RAM variant with 64 GB storage may be priced at 2,799 Yuan which is approx. Rs 29,942 and a premium 8GB RAM variant with 128 GB storage which will be priced at 3,199 Yuan which is approx. Rs. 34,220.
Meanwhile, a hands-on video has also surfaced online which has revealed some important features of the Mi 8. The 9 seconds video was first spotted by Slashleaks and it shows the front and rear of the smartphone. As per the video, the rear of the device shows dual rear cameras which are aligned vertically. The front side shows the notch cutout at the top and a full-screen display. It is also to be noted that the rear side does not show any fingerprint scammer which means the phone is likely to have an in-display fingerprint sensor.
As per earlier reports, Xiaomi flagship will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC inside a device which features a 6-inch OLED display. It is said to be having 6GB/8GB of RAM and up to 64/128GB of onboard storage. The Mi 8 is also expected to run Android Oreo on top of a new MIUI version and backed up by a 4000mAh battery. Besides the in-display fingerprint sensor, the phone is also rumoured to support 3D facial recognition.
