Xiaomi today unveiled its latest smartphones, the Xiaomi Mi 5S and Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus. The Xiaomi Mi 5S comes in two variants – one with 3GB RAM with 64GB Internal Memory and another with 4GB RAM with 128GB internal memory. The Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus also comes in two variants – one has 4GB RAM and 64GB internal memory while the other has 6GB RAM and 128GB internal memory. Both the devices will be available for sale in China from 29th September.
The Xiaomi Mi 5S 3GB variant is priced at 1999 Yuan (approximately Rs 19,932), while the Xiaomi Mi 5S 4GB variant is priced at 2299 Yuan (approximately Rs 22,925). The Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus 4GB is priced at 2299 Yuan (approximately Rs 22,925) and Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus 6GB variant is priced at 2599 Yuan (approximately Rs 25,900).
Xiaomi Mi 5S
Xiaomi Mi 5S features a 5.15-inch full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display with brightness up to 600 nits and is powered by 2.15 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 821 processor and Adreno 530 GPU coupled with 3GB/4GB RAM. The dual SIM based smartphone runs on Android Marshmallow based MIUI 8 operating system and has a 3200 mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick charge 3.0 technology. It features a ultrasonic fingerprint sensor which is placed below the phone’s display. The sensor recognizes fingerprints in a fraction of a second.
The Xiaomi Mi 5S boasts a 12-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, Sony IMX378 1/2.3-inch sensor, PDAF and a 4-megapixel front facing camera with 2um pixels, f/2.0 aperture, 80-degree wide-angle lens, 1080p video recording. On the connectivity front, the device offers 4G with VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), GPS with AGS/GLONASS, NFC and USB type C. The device measures 145.6 x 70.3 x 8.25 mm and weighs 145 grams.
Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus
Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus features a 5.7-inch full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display with brightness up to 550 nits and is powered by 2.35 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 821 processor and Adreno 530 GPU coupled with 4GB/6GB RAM. The dual SIM based smartphone runs on Android Marshmallow based MIUI 8 operating system and has a 3800 mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick charge 3.0 technology. It features a fingerprint scanner which is built into its home button.
The Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus features two 13-megapixel rear cameras with dual-tone LED flash, Sony sensor, and PDAF feature. It can record 4K videos. A 4-megapixel front facing camera is also there with 2um pixels, f/2.0 aperture, 80-degree wide-angle lens, and it can record 1080p videos. On the connectivity front, the device offers 4G with VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), GPS with AGS/GLONASS, NFC and USB type C. The device measures 154.6 x 77.7 x 7.95 mm and weighs 168 grams.
Both the Xiaomi Mi 5S and Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus come in four colors – Dark Gray, Silver, Gold and Rose Gold colors. No information about their release in India is available right now.
