Xiaomi has finally started rolling out much awaited Android 7.0 Nougat via MIUI 8.2 update for Xiaomi Mi 5. However, the update has just been rolled out in the China for now, but we expect it to soon be available for other regions as well.
The MIUI 8.2 update brings Android Nougat OS to the Mi 5 smartphone and fixes the minor bugs, enhance the performance of the device, redesigned notification bar, new additional features such as home screen settings option, antivirus scan feature, new ringtones and much more. The update is 1.3GB in size.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 has a 5.15 inch display that has full HD resolution. It is powered by a Snapdragon 820 Processor and comes along with Adreno 530 graphics processor, dual SIM, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, a fingerprint scanner and Android Marshmallow operating system, which will be now up-gradable to Android Nougat.
The phone has a 16 Megapixel rear camera that has Sony IMX298 sensor, 6P lens, phase detection auto focus feature, LED flash light support, optical image stabilization and sapphire glass protection for lens. For selfies, the Mi 5 offers a 4 megapixel front camera.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 is fueled by a 3000 mAh battery and comes with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 technology. It has a USB Type C port too. Other than that, the Mi 5 offers WiFi (a/b/g/n/ac), Bluetooth 4.2 and NFC. The handset measures 144.5×69.2×7.25mm and weighs 129 grams. The Xiaomi Mi 5 also has UFS 2.0 storage which is said to offer 87 per cent faster read write speed than eMMC 5.0 storage which is found in other smartphones. The Mi 5 comes with 4G+ (CAT 12 LTE modem) technology that can offer up to 600 Mbps speed. It also supports VoLTE.
