Xiaomi Mi 4 announced, claims to be world’s fastest

China-based Xiaomi has introduced world's fastest smartphone - Mi4 bearing stainless steel frame, polished chassis, 5-inch full HD display and powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset.

Xiaomi, a China-based handset maker which made its début in India just recently under the brand name ‘Mi’, has formally announced its new flagship smartphone – Mi 4 – in China. The version Xiaomi Mi 4 will be available from July 29 while the LTE enabled version is expected to be available in September. Xiaomi The Mi 4 is priced at roughly Rs 19,280 for 16 GB and Rs 24,100 for 64 GB model.

Xiaomi Mi 4 boasts of a stunning new design that incorporates premium stainless steel framed with slightly chamfered edges. With removable rear panel, Xiaomi already promises replaceable back covers. The Mi 4 features a 5-inch Full HD IPS LCD display with 1920×1080 pixel resolution. This display has been laminated to the chassis and boasts of high colour gamut.

The Mi 4 is powered by the new quad-core 2.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 mobile chipset and 3 GB RAM. It will be made available in 16 GB and 64 GB internal storage options. There are no details on whether these versions will have a micro SD card slot or not. The company has not clarified the version so we presume that the Mi 4 too will ship with MIUI version 5 based on the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update. Meanwhile, the company has promised to release the MIUI version 6 on 16 August later this year.

Mi 4 offers a 13 megapixel camera featuring Sony IMX214 sensor at the rear along with LED flash and autofocus. This camera offers f/1.8 aperture, real-time HDR and resolution video recording. In the front, it has an 8 megapixel camera with Sony IMX219 sensor and f/1.8 aperture and 80 degree wide angle coverage. The Mi 4 packs a 3080 battery and weighs about 149 grams along with the battery.

Meanwhile, the Mi 3 just went on sale in India and got sold out in 40 minutes. The Mobile Indian had been informed that Mi India would initially offer limited stocks on the sale day and then will continue pushing more units for sale.
