Xiaomi launched its first Android One smartphone, the Mi A1 in India for Rs 14,999 in September this year with Stock Android 7.1.2 Nougat operating system. At that time it was announced that stock Android 7.1.2 Nougat. But until now, the device hasn’t tasted Oreo. Now Xiaomi has announced via its official forum that it is looking for beta testers for the Android 8.0 Oreo software update on Mi A1 device.
The registrations for beta testers are open for Mi A1 owners until December 11 at 11:59 PM China time and submit the application post which the company will see if you’re eligible for the beta test. To sign for the beta testing, you have to download the Xiaomi MIUI Forum application from the Play Store and go to the Recruitment section on the app’s homepage.
In the app, you will have to provide the IMEI number of your Mi A1 smartphone. If selected, your device will receive the Android Oreo beta software via OTA. While the recruitment is open to all parts of the world, only active members of the global forum will be selected for the testing program.
Meanwhile, Flipkart has announced that it is holding Big Shopping days sale on its website from December 7 to December 9 during which you can buy Xiaomi Mi A1 for Rs 12,999 instead of 14,999. The major highlight of the device is the dual rear cameras, which comes with a combination of 12-megapixel sensors. The primary sensor sports a wide-angle lens, while the secondary camera offers telephoto lens. The phone support 2x Optical Zoom and 10x digital zoom. Further, it comes with stereoscopic imaging and deep learning algorithm to deliver impressive portrait shots.
The device sports a metallic unibody and features a 5.5-inch Full HD display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels along with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The device is just 7mm thin and weighs 168 grams. Under the hood, the device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 Processor along with a 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It comes with dual graphite sheet, which decreases the temperature by 2-degree. On the audio front, it features 10V smart PA for high-quality audio.
On the battery front, it supports 3080mAh battery with USB Type-C port and the company says it has customized a 380V charger for India for power spikes. There is a fingerprint sensor at the back panel and an IR blaster on the top of the device. On the connectivity front, it supports 4G LTE, Bluetooth, WiFi, USB Type-C port and Dual-SIM support.
