Xiaomi Black Shark gaming smartphone with up to 8GB RAM, detachable Gamepad announced

This is company’s first smartphone that is meant for the gamers and has all the arsenal to give a stiff competition to Razer’s first gaming smartphone, Razer Phone.

Black Shark, a company funded by Xiaomi, has today announced its first gaming smartphone in China. Dubbed, Black Shark gaming phone, the device comes with a price tag of 2999 Yuan (approx. Rs 31,200) for the 6GB variant, while the 8GB RAM option is priced at 3499 Yuan (approx. Rs 36,500) and the device is available for order in China from today onwards.

This is company’s first smartphone that is meant for the gamers and has all the arsenal to give a stiff competition to Razer’s first gaming smartphone, Razer Phone. The Black Shark Gaming Phone features liquid cooling technology, which helps to maintain the temperature of the smartphone during high-end gaming experience. It has a dedicated one-touch Shark key that gives an immersive gaming experience. Users can also set up quick features on the fingerprint sensor like silent mode or DND.

The smartphone is equipped with an image processing chip that comes with intelligent motion compensation technology, dark scene detail processing for a smoother gaming experience. Then there is Gamepad, which can be connected using 4.0 and packs a 150mAh battery that the company claims can deliver up to 30 hours of usage on a single charge.

Xiaomi Black Shark

Coming to key specifications, the Black Shark Gaming Phone features a 5.99-inch Full display with a screen resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and a brightness of 550 nits. The device is powered by the latest 2.8GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 along with Adreno 630 GPU.

The gaming smartphone comes in two variants: 6GB of RAM with 64GB of storage and 8GB of RAM with 128GB of storage. On the camera front, the phone features a dual-camera setup with a combination of the 12-megapixel sensor with f/1.75 aperture, 1.25-micron pixel size and 20-megapixel sensor with 1.0-micron pixel size and dual-tone flash. For the front, there is a 20-megapixel shooter with 1.0-micron pixel size, f/2.2 for selfies and video calling.

The Black Shark Gaming Phone runs on 8.1 Oreo and it is backed by a 4000mAh battery Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. On the connectivity front, the device supports 04G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi 802.11ac dual-band, USB Type-C port, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, and fingerprint sensor. The phone measures 161.6 x 75.4 x 9.25mm and weight 190 grams.
