HTC Mozart 7 and Radar smartphones have received a new update which allowed Internet sharing through Windows Phones. Many users who plugged their unlocked HTC HD7 devices noticed the update was available and installing it just takes about 10 minutes.
With this update, users can now use their Windows Phone handset as a personal hotspot.
All the phones won’t see the update at the same time, because the updates are sent to different phones in waves. So even those, who haven’t received their update so far, should keep checking since they will get it sooner rather than later. Users first heard about the hotspot feature way back in August, so it has taken very long time to come.
Many smartphones have this ability to share the mobile Broadband connection over WiFi for long. The utility of using the phone as a hotspot or a dedicated device for the same purpose is anyway debatable, but it all depends on what the users want. Also, the hotspot feature drains the battery very quickly.
