Winamp, the popular multimedia playback application, has just completed 15 years. To celebrate the software developers have released a Winamp update for Android and added an in-app store. Along with that, a new tool has also been introduced, called Album Washer that fetches correct track tags and high quality album art. Of course, Album Washer and other add-ons will come at a cost of about $1or more.
Winamp has been one of the versatile multimedia players for Android and now introduces its own in-app store. In this digital store, Winamp will offer some premium features as a bundle and also some individual add-ons.
The list of premium add-ons that can be produced from the in-app store includes a homescreen customization add-on, the ability to browse by folders, a ten band graphic equalizer and cross-fade between tracks.
The new update also brings a Move to the SDcard feature for users to move the App to their SDcard and save some space on the internal storage of the device. Developers have also added search for SHOUTcast radio and the notifications have been optimized.
In fact, the developers have pushed yet another minor update to fix the crashes and improve stability. Winamp for Android 1.3.1 can be downloaded for free from the Google App store.
