Yesterday, Andy Rubin, Co-Founder Android, unveiled Essential smartphone. Initially, it will be up for grabs in the United States only and the time lines for its international launch have not been shared with the media so far.
It has got a price tag of $699 ( around Rs 45,000) and is expected to take on the dominance of Apple and Samsung. The smartphone is now available for pre-order from company’s official website. Here are the answers few question that must in your mind.
Is Essential Smartphone coming to India?
In all likely hood it will be launched it India and other countries, but as for now, the company has not shared any information about the same. We are following up with them.
Can one right away but the Essential Smartphone?
No, One cannot buy the phone right away. Currently, the Essential Phone is available for reservation ( prebooking) on the Essential website that too in US only. First one has to reserve the device and post that information about the date of shipping and delivery will be provided via email at a later date.
What are charges to be paid for pre-booking?
There are no charges for pre-booking or reserving the smartphone. One has to pay only when Essential Phone is ready to be shipped in United States address, and one doesn’t have to pay any shipping. Shipping fee for accessories, like camera module, may be extras.

Starting with the front, the device has a bezeless display design, similar to what we have seen in the recently launched Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6. The phone is made from Titanium body and has a ceramic back, while the front is protected with Corning Glass 5 cover glass.
The device has a 5.71-inch QHD display with a screen Resolution of 2560 x 1312 pixels.Itis powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Processor along with Adreno 540 GPU. The phone has a 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It will run on Ambient OS, which is based on Android, though there is no information about the Android version.
On the camera front, the device sports 13-megapixel dual cameras. It also features f/1.85 lens, Hybrid Auto Focus combing Contrast, Phase Detect and IR Laser Assist Focus and 4K video recording at 30fps. For the front, there is an 8 megapixel shooter with f/2.2 fixed hyperfocal lens and 4K video recording. It has 3040mAh battery with fast charging. On the connectivity front, it supports Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac with MIMO, NFC, 4G LTE, USB Type-C and fingerprint sensor. It measures 141.5 x 71.1 x 7.8 mm and weighs approx. 185 grams.
